Job summary

The Building People is seeking a Senior Facility Site Accessor to support a federal client on a secure campus in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate brings a strong mechanical engineering background with building systems experience and the ability to manage assessments, cost estimates, and lifecycle planning.

Responsibilities include coordinating inventories and condition assessments, documenting deficiencies, and leading communications with management and multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance required.
• Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years in building construction related to mechanical systems or MEP coordination.
• Experience with facility condition and energy assessments in federal or mission-critical environments.
• Proficiency with HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, controls, energy management, and BAS data.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate inventories and condition assessments of building/ infrastructure components, focusing on MEP systems.
• Classify deficiencies and document condition narratives for systems and components.
• Recommend corrective actions supporting repair, renewal, lifecycle planning and cost estimates.
• Perform quality control on field surveys, data input, findings, and reports.
• Lead regular communications with management on schedules, risks, findings and status.
• Prepare facility assessment and energy audit findings; include energy assessments.
• Review BAS data for energy optimization; extract and document relevant information.
• Review cost estimates and update databases based on real cost data.
• Apply FAM lifecycle principles to define asset-performance parameters and services.
• Stay current on MEP trades, standards, and codes; share knowledge with team.
• Prepare training materials and conduct sessions on building mechanical systems.
• Coordinate with government stakeholders and project teams to translate needs into engineering solutions.
• Report to secure campus in Washington, DC; travel ~50% for surveys, audits, training, coordination.
