Job summary

Planate Management Group seeks an experienced Construction Inspector to support the USCG Yard in Baltimore, MD. You will provide independent inspection, verify design conformance, and document safety, workmanship, and materials throughout construction and commissioning.

The role requires 10+ years in inspection or 5+ years with engineering credentials (PE/PMP/QA/QC). Procore expertise and OSHA certification are essential for success in a federally regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years in construction inspection, quality control, or superintendent roles, or 5+ years with an engineering degree plus PE/PMP/QA/QC cert.
• Experience on federal construction projects and large infrastructure, utilities, waterfront works, or design-build efforts.
• Extensive QA experience in Maryland and familiarity with local trades.
• Strong client technical representative background overseeing supervision and QA/QC duties.
• Must hold PE, ICC, PMP, or QA/QC certifications and be versed in building codes.
• OSHA 10/30 certification is required, plus Procore proficiency.
• Must meet USCG access/credentialing needs (CAC/DBIDS/RAPIDGate).
• Ability to analyze schedules and verify progress; lift up to 50 pounds; work site conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent construction inspection to verify compliance with specs, safety, and USCG requirements.
• Conduct full-time field surveillance during active construction and demolition.
• Inspect workmanship, installation methods, and materials against designs and standards.
• Review submittals, equipment, and testing; maintain deficiency and corrective-action logs.
• Coordinate with prime contractor, subcontractors, USCG personnel, COR, and KO.
• Prepare final inspection reports and provide recommendations.
