Job summary

Planate Management Group is seeking an experienced Construction Inspector to support the USCG Yard in Baltimore, MD. You will perform independent construction inspection, verify workmanship, and ensure compliance with design, safety, and USCG requirements throughout construction and commissioning.

The role requires MD-area QA/QC experience, a relevant engineering degree or PE/PMP, and OSHA 10/30. This is a full-time position with a 24-month contract window, contingent on award.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in construction inspection, or 5+ years with a relevant engineering degree and QA/QC certification.
• Experience on federal construction projects and complex infrastructure.
• Extensive QA/QC in Maryland and familiarity with codes and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent construction inspection to verify design, safety, and USCG requirements.
• Conduct full-time field surveillance during active construction and demolition.
• Inspect workmanship and materials against approved designs and standards.
• Review submittals, observe specialized inspections, and document deficiencies.
• Maintain logs, reports, and closeout documentation; coordinate with stakeholders.
