Huitt-Zollars, Inc. seeks a Senior Civil Engineer Project Manager for the San Diego office with 10+ years in design and a California PE license. You will lead federal/institutional/public works projects, supervise design staff, coordinate plans, specs, and estimates, and ensure QA/QC.

Responsibilities include client coordination, proposal development, and ensuring compliance with DoD/UC criteria while delivering high-quality, on-time designs using MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
• Minimum 10 years of engineering design experience, Federal/Institutional focus preferred.
• Experience with DoD criteria and Unified Facilities Criteria is essential.
• Ability to lead design teams and manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
• Strong verbal and written communication for client coordination and proposals.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering design for Federal projects, including schematics, plans, specs, and estimates.
• Coordinate production of staff, duties, and schedules; manage site visits and reports.
• Prepare presentations, GIS exhibits, and preliminary engineering studies.
• Ensure design complies with jurisdictional requirements and QA/QC processes.
• Assist with proposals, contracts, and project work plans; supervise PM tasks.
• Develop design drawings using Autodesk products and related research.
• Review shop drawings, perform field observations, and support project close-out.
