Job summary

American Modern Insurance Group, Inc., a Munich Re company, is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to lead end-to-end pricing model initiatives for personal lines. The role emphasizes ownership of regulatory filings and collaboration with stakeholders across the Predictive Analytics team.

You will develop, deploy, monitor, and refine predictive models, mentor junior data scientists, and contribute to broader enterprise predictive analytics and decision science initiatives within a high-visibility

Qualifications

• Six (6) or more years of data science/predictive analytics experience in insurance or eight (8+) or more years predictive modeling experience in another industry.
• Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Statistics/Math and Economics double major, or Statistics/Math and Computer Science double major or Statistics/Math and Operation Research double major.
• FCAS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead pricing model strategy for a subset of products.
• Develop, deploy, monitor, and maintain predictive models.
• Collaborate with stakeholders.
• Manage filing schedules for aligned products.
• Prepare and complete predictive analytics analyses and modeling with general guidance on very complex projects.
• Present results/topics to internal and external customers and management as requested.
• Contribute to actionable insights for customer satisfaction, policy growth, retention, and profitability.
• Document assumptions, results, and alternatives; communicate with regulators when needed.
• Create and maintain modeling best practices and new techniques with internal and external partners.
• Explain advanced analytics procedures in accessible language.
• Schedule and prioritize workload; maintain organization; perform technical peer reviews.
• Mentor junior data scientists and team members.
