Job summary

American Modern Insurance Group, a Munich Re company, seeks a Principal Data Scientist to lead end-to-end development and maintenance of personal lines pricing models. The role includes mentoring analysts, owning regulatory filings, and influencing enterprise predictive initiatives.

You will drive pricing strategy, deploy and monitor models, and collaborate with stakeholders to produce actionable insights that improve policy growth, retention, and profitability.

Qualifications

• Six or more years of data science/predictive analytics experience in insurance.
• Eight+ years predictive modeling experience in another industry is acceptable.
• Master's degree in a relevant field is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead pricing model strategy for a subset of products.
• Develop, deploy, monitor, and maintain predictive models.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align analytics with business goals.
• Manage filing schedules for aligned products.
• Prepare predictive analytics analyses and modeling with guidance.
• Present results to customers and management as requested.
• Tackle loosely defined problems with creative analytical approaches.
• Prepare data input and identify anomalies for modeling work.
• Document assumptions, results, and alternatives for regulators and stakeholders.
• Create and maintain modeling best practices and new techniques.
• Explain advanced analytics concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Schedule workload, maintain organization, and perform peer reviews.
• Mentor junior data scientists and team members.
