Job summary

GCI Communication Corp in Alaska seeks a Facility Maintenance Technician III to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on telecom facility infrastructure across the state. You will monitor HVAC, power systems, and building services, troubleshoot issues, and ensure safety and code compliance while traveling to remote communities.

The role requires a strong background in facility operations, the ability to read technical drawings, and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum eight (8) years in facility operation, maintenance or related telecom role.
• Willingness to travel to rural Alaskan communities for extended periods.
• May require DOT medical card and driving responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch to communities across Alaska for preventive and corrective maintenance and testing of facilities.
• Maintain HVAC, generators, batteries, UPS, rectifiers, fire suppression and power distribution systems.
• Ensure compliance with codes, regulations and company specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance to keep buildings within design conditions.
• Monitor and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC and building systems.
• Assist with equipment setup and seasonal tasks as needed.
• Open and track corrective tickets and manage spare parts inventory.
