Job summary

GCI Communication Corp. seeks a Facility Maintenance Technician I to perform preventive maintenance and repair of facility infrastructure across Alaska, maximizing system availability for customers. A $2,500 hiring bonus is offered and you will work on HVAC, power systems, and building services.

The role requires coordinating with teams, adhering to safety guidelines, and maintaining equipment inventories while supporting ongoing facility operations in remote communities.

Qualifications

• Experience performing maintenance on HVAC, electrical, and building systems.
• Ability to read technical drawings and manuals.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and codes.
• Willingness to travel across Alaska communities.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch to Alaska communities for preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Maintain HVAC, generators, batteries, UPS, and power systems.
• Ensure compliance with codes and company standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs; troubleshoot equipment.
• Assist with scheduling, ticketing, and reporting of maintenance activities.
• Support life safety exercises and safety equipment checks.
• Maintain site cleanliness and proper occupancy compliance.
