Job summary

GCI is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician III to perform advanced preventive maintenance and repair of facility infrastructure across Alaska. You will troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building systems, while ensuring safety compliance and equipment reliability.

The role requires travel to rural communities for multi-day assignments and mentoring junior technicians. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and 8 years in facility operations or telecommunications

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of eight (8) years in a facility operation, maintenance environment, telecommunications technician role, or related background. *
• Ability to travel to rural Alaskan communities for up to several days’ duration.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch to communities across Alaska to perform preventative and corrective maintenance, repair, quality control inspections, and testing of company facilities.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and perform repairs on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building systems.
• Document maintenance activities, ticket tracking, and report equipment issues.
• Assist in maintaining and updating software for scheduling, tracking work orders, equipment, and preventative maintenance.
