Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Building Engineer to perform complex preventive maintenance and repairs on buildings, systems, and grounds. You will monitor operations under limited supervision across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and related trades, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires multiple trade skills, a high school diploma or equivalent, and certifications. You will work with outside contractors, manage records, and respond to emergencies to keep facilities running efficiently.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4 years of related experience.
• Universal CFC certification preferred.
• Additional certification in electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems may be required.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Comply with regulations, codes, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.
• Inspect building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and client specifications.
• Oversee and inspect the work performed by outside contractors (landscaping, snow removal, remodels, HVAC, plumbing, cleaning).
• Perform assigned repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance and keep maintenance records.
• Estimate time and materials, order supplies, and complete tasks.
• Maintain an energy management program to minimize operating costs.
• Maintain the building lighting system and perform related repairs.
• Respond quickly to emergency situations and coordinate additional assistance as needed.
