Job Family:
Jobs in this career family provide professional management of operation, maintenance and renovation of University buildings and equipment. Functions include fire protection; physical plant operations; power systems and utilities management; custodial, skilled trades, grounds and waste management; and materials management including property, inventory, furniture, fixtures and equipment.
Position Summary:
Performs under direct supervision of the Director of the Office of Operations and Maintenance. Delivers building operational decisions and direction for Operations and Maintenance services for Metropolitan State University of Denver. Provides direction and leadership to contractors and facilities support functions to ensure efficient operation of building systems and utility distribution to MSU campus owned facilities and MSU occupied settings. Acts as alternate for Director of Operations and Maintenance.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
This position requires timely response, effective communication and management of all work order requests related to the ongoing maintenance of buildings and grounds through the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Maintains accurate and intimate basic knowledge of all University building and systems including, but not limited to, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, security, and life safety. This includes the maintenance provided by contracted trades for mechanical, electrical, & plumbing needs, grounds, housekeeping, waste management, and other building related issues. Acts as on call point of contact for facility maintenance and emergency issues during and after normal hours of operation. Ensures a consistent excellent customer service approach is applied during interactions with students, staff, faculty, and all other internal and external University stakeholders.

Salary for Announcement:
Under Colorado law, MSU Denver is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role and should not offer a salary outside of the range posted in this job announcement. This range takes into account a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.
The salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $75,000-$85,000.
This position is paid monthly and is eligible for MSU Denver benefits.
