Job summary

Adult Correction Department is seeking an HVAC Supervisor (NS) at Anson Correctional Institution to manage installation, maintenance, and repair of air-conditioning and related systems. The role involves supervising HVAC staff, reviewing contractor work, and designing smaller HVAC solutions to support facility operations.

The position requires EPA certification and a high school diploma or GED with relevant experience. Standard hours are 8am-5pm, with potential overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with up to three years of journey-level HVAC installation/maintenance experience.
• EPA Type I, II, III or Universal certification is required.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair air-conditioning and refrigeration units in air handling and chilled water systems.
• Supervise HVAC Mechanics, design smaller systems, and review plans for contractor work.
• Design modifications to larger systems and provide specifications for contracted work.
• Review the work of outside contractors and ensure quality and compliance.
• Work independently under supervision of a plant engineer and ensure efficient equipment operation.
• Coordinate with facilities staff to meet ongoing HVAC needs.
