Job summary

The State of North Carolina's Department of Adult Correction seeks an HVAC Mechanic I (S) at Brown Creek Correctional Institution in Polkton, NC. You will perform journey-level work on heating/air conditioning, refrigeration, and related equipment, executing required maintenance and documenting work performed.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED with three years of progressive HVAC experience and an EPA Type I/II/III or Universal certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three years of progressive experience in installation, maintenance or repair of HVAC systems.
• EPA certification required (Type I, II, III or Universal).

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on industrial HVAC, refrigeration, and related systems.
• Identify problems, select materials and methods, and complete repairs.
• Maintain accurate service records and materials usage.
• Train and supervise offender helpers as needed.
