Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking an experienced facilities technician to perform renovation and restoration work across university facilities. You will modify and install drywall, doors, windows, ceilings, and flooring while inspecting fire-rated walls and doors and updating drawings.

You will lead a team, mentor staff, coordinate work orders, and ensure safety practices. The role requires flexibility with shift changes, potential overtime, and 24-hour emergency call

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Four years’ experience in general construction, carpentry, fire-stopping, or painting.
• Probation period includes OSHA 30-hour General Industry Safety, understanding of university building standards, and project process.

Responsibilities

• Perform renovation and restoration tasks to maintain interior and exterior aesthetics.
• Modify and install drywall, doors, windows, ceilings, and flooring; repair fire-rated walls/doors.
• Lead a team of facilities technicians and mentor other staff; coordinate and document work orders.
