Job summary

The City of Wilmington seeks a Sr. Facilities Specialist to maintain and repair City buildings, systems, and equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and security components, and coordinate with contractors.

You’ll troubleshoot issues, document work orders, and provide customer-focused service to City departments. The role requires on-call rotation and a valid Class C driver's license.

Qualifications

• Vocational/technical training or certificate beyond high school plus 3 years of commercial building systems maintenance experience, or equivalent.
• Class C Driver’s License required.
• On-call rotation is required.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors, including inclement weather.

Responsibilities

• Performs skilled carpentry, general maintenance, repairs, installations, and related building components.
• Operates and monitors building systems and energy management equipment.
• Performs preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related equipment.
• Maintains electrical equipment, light fixtures, outlets, and security lighting; orders materials as needed.
• Maintains and installs doors, door hardware, and security systems.
