Job summary

The State of Delaware is seeking a skilled Physical Plant Maintenance/Trades Mechanic III to perform advanced level maintenance, repair and restoration tasks on building structures, systems and equipment across state facilities.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, HVAC work, and project support, with potential supervision of other staff and strict adherence to safety and reporting procedures.

Qualifications

• Six months experience operating and maintaining equipment in trades fields such as plumbing, carpentry, painting or HVAC.
• Six months experience in performing work in plumbing, carpentry, painting or HVAC.
• Six months experience in record keeping.
• Knowledge of interpreting blueprints, schematics or technical drawings.
• Knowledge of estimating cost, time and materials for projects.
• Possession of a valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on building structures, fixtures and HVAC systems.
• Performs restoration and renovation on facilities, may design layout for efficient space use.
• Oversees and may train maintenance personnel on specific assignments.
• Maintains records of work performed and materials used.
