Newmark seeks a seasoned mechanical engineer to lead building operations and maintenance for a large Class A facility. The role oversees utilities, preventive maintenance, and capital planning, ensuring reliability and regulatory compliance.

The position requires 8–10 years of engineering experience in a large-scale environment, strong communication skills, and licenses; it reports into Facilities Management. Salary aligns with market norms for the New York area.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, positive approach to job, and ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
• Proficient computer and e-mail skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and make decisions.
• 8-10 years’ experience as Engineer in 250 KSF or greater Class A building.

Responsibilities

• Supervise/coordinate tenant fit-up work and building construction projects.
• Maintenance: Boilers/Chillers/HVAC Systems – 99% reliability. Direction on repairs as needed.
• Electrical Secondary (non-critical) – 98% reliability. Quality repairs; call certified electrician as needed.
• Plumbing systems – Provide direction on repairs as needed.
• General Building Maintenance; ensure OSHA compliance and safety guidelines.
• Shift Scheduling – Provide scheduled coverage on all shifts to reduce overtime; after-hours coverage.
