Job summary

Newmark Group, Inc. is seeking a Facilities and Engineering Manager to lead operations for a downtown high-rise commercial property in Buffalo.

You’ll own building performance—championing reliability, sustainability, cost control, and tenant experience—while mentoring a capable engineering team in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities include overseeing operations, safety, capital planning, energy management, budgets, and vendor relations to ensure uptime and best-in-class facilities for

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
• Buffalo-area Chief Stationary Engineer license.
• 5–8 years in Class A facilities of 250K SF or larger with leadership.
• Strong communicator capable of multi-project management.
• Proficient with computer systems, email, work order/CMMS, and building automation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day building operations; ensure safety compliance; uphold safety culture and incident reporting.
• Scope and deliver projects that meet cost, schedule, quality, and functionality goals; plan annual capital priorities.
• Track energy usage; implement energy-efficiency projects and secure favorable utility rates.
• Manage bids, vendor selection, POs, budgets, and contract quality; supervise logs and documentation.
• Maintain high uptime for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems; coordinate licensed specialists.
