Job summary

The City of Aurora seeks a Senior Engineer for the Facilities Project Delivery division in Public Works. You will lead municipal building projects from planning to construction, overseeing budgets, design reviews, and contracts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or closely related field from ABET accredited program.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressively responsible engineering/architectural experience in building construction.
  • Minimum 4 years of construction coordination experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead lifecycle management of municipal building projects from planning through construction.
  • Manage multi-million dollar budgets and complex engineering reports.
  • Coordinate with City departments, consultants, and contractors; oversee RFQ/RFP processes.
  • Review design submissions for scope, quality, budget, and schedule; ensure code compliance.
  • Mentor staff and supervise project teams to deliver on time and on budget.
