Job summary

City of Aurora seeks a Capital Projects Construction/Project Manager to oversee major street infrastructure rehabilitation and preservation projects, coordinating contracts, budgets, and timelines to ensure safe, durable roadways for the community.

You will work with cross-functional teams, municipal partners, and contractors, leveraging data, reports, and field insights to drive successful project delivery in a dynamic city environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in infrastructure analysis or inspection work related to asphalt and concrete construction.
• Preferred PMP Certification and Engineering Intern Certification.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage construction contracts for major street rehabilitation projects including street overlay and concrete rehabilitation and preservation programs.
• Review and approve progress payments for capital project contracts and represent the Street Division at meetings with contractors and other agencies.
• Prepare reports on construction activities and coordinate with other divisions and agencies on infrastructure rehabilitation and preservation projects.
• Prepare construction contract documents including plans, drawings, specifications and estimates; monitor budgets and approvals.
• Coordinate the work of employees in pavement condition data collection and analysis; maintain pavement data systems.
• Investigate and resolve citizen requests and manage contracted snow removal efforts.
