Job summary

The City of Aurora is seeking a Capital Projects Construction/Project Manager to lead complex street infrastructure projects. You will manage contracts, budgets, and coordination with multiple divisions to deliver rehabilitation and preservation programs that improve public roadways and safety.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience, and must possess strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills for

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or other closely related field.
• At least 2 years progressively responsible experience in infrastructure analysis or inspection work related to asphalt and concrete construction.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and manages construction contracts for major street rehabilitation projects including street overlay and concrete rehabilitation and preservation programs.
• Coordinates and manages street preservation and maintenance contracts including chip seal, slurry seal, crack seal and concrete street preservation.
• Reviews and approves progress payments for capital project construction contracts and represents the Street Division at meetings with contractors and other agencies.
• Prepares reports on construction activities and coordinates with other divisions on infrastructure rehabilitation and preservation projects.
• Maintains computerized records and supports pavement management data collection and reporting.
