Job summary
Blue Origin is seeking a Senior Facilities Design Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design across our launch, manufacturing, test, and office facilities. You will act as Engineer of Record and coordinate with multi-discipline teams to deliver compliant, high-performance systems.
You will apply expertise in high-power distribution, precision manufacturing environments, and mission-critical facility design, ensuring safety, reliability, and energy efficiency across the portfolio.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Active Professional Engineering (PE) license in Electrical Engineering.
- 10+ years of progressive electrical design experience focused on facilities/building systems.
- Experience as Engineer of Record on medium to large-scale facilities projects.
- Proven design experience for large aerospace/defense/advanced manufacturing facilities.
- Proficiency with electrical design software (AutoCAD, Revit MEP, SKM, ETAP).
- Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, NFPA 101, IBC and local codes.
- Experience with up to 35kV medium-voltage power distribution.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical design for large-scale aerospace and manufacturing facilities including power, lighting, grounding, fire alarm, and LV systems.
- Develop and review drawings, specs, calculations to ensure code compliance.
- Serve as Engineer of Record for electrical systems on applicable projects.
- Coordinate with architects, structural, mechanical and process engineers for integrated designs.
- Review work by external consultants and contractors for quality and intent.
- Conduct site surveys, inspections, and construction administration tasks.
