Job summary

Blue Origin LLC seeks a Senior Facilities Design Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for large aerospace and manufacturing facilities, including power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems. You will act as Engineer of Record and collaborate across architecture, civil, and mechanical teams.

The role requires a PE license, 10+ years in facilities electrical design, and hands-on use of NEC/NFPA/IBC standards.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelors in Electrical Engineering.
• Active PE license in Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years progressive electrical design experience focusing on facilities/building systems.
• Engineer of Record on medium to large-scale facilities projects.
• Experience designing electrical systems for aerospace/defense/advanced manufacturing facilities.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, SKM PowerTools, ETAP.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, NFPA 101, IBC.
• Up to 35kV medium-voltage distribution experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design for large-scale aerospace/manufacturing facilities.
• Develop drawings, specs, calculations ensuring code compliance.
• Serve as Engineer of Record for electrical systems.
• Coordinate with architects and engineers for integrated designs.
• Manage external consultants and site inspections.
• Develop electrical design standards and guidelines.
• Perform load, short-circuit, arc flash, voltage drop studies.
• Support commissioning and system turnover.
• Identify opportunities for energy efficiency and sustainability.
• Mentor junior engineers and design staff.
