Job summary

Verano Holdings seeks an experienced Manager, Finance - External Reporting in Chicago, IL to lead preparation of quarterly and annual financials, SEC filings, and disclosures. This role coordinates with Investor Relations, FP&A, Legal, and Treasury to ensure accurate, timely reporting and compliance with S-X/S-K.

The position requires CPA licensure, 5+ years in external reporting, and familiarity with Workiva, XBRL, and GAAP. Strong Excel and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required; Master’s degree is a plus.
• Active CPA license is required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including SEC/external reporting at a publicly traded company.
• 2+ years of public accounting experience, preferably with a Big 4 or national firm, is strongly preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, including Regulations S-X and S-K.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of the Company’s quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements, footnotes, and supporting schedules for Forms 10-Q and 10-K, ensuring conformity with U.S. GAAP and SEC Regulations S-X and S-K.
• Manage the external reporting calendar, disclosure checklists, and tie-out process, and coordinate XBRL tagging and review workflows in the Company’s reporting platform (Workiva/Wdesk).
• Partner with Investor Relations, FP&A, Legal, and Treasury in the preparation and review of earnings releases, investor presentations, and other external financial communications.
• Monitor accounting literature and SEC rulemaking for new reporting requirements and support implementation of new accounting standards.
• Own key recurring accounting and reporting areas such as the consolidated statement of cash flows, segment reporting, earnings per share, lease accounting, and impairment testing.
