Job summary

MGM Resorts International, based in Las Vegas, seeks a Senior Executive Assistant Steward at Mandalay Bay to lead stewarding operations and elevate guest experiences. You will manage staffing, training, and policy implementation to ensure service excellence across Food & Beverage outlets and kitchen areas.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant experience in stewarding within the hotel/casino industry.
• Experience in multi-venue stewarding operations and/or banquet stewarding operations.

Responsibilities

• Manages stewarding operations to meet and exceed departmental goals.
• Oversees HR responsibilities: hiring, training, performance feedback, and employee satisfaction.
• Investigates stewarding labor relations issues and provides counseling or disciplinary actions as needed.
• Oversees job training and development programs through stewarding managers.
• Implements F&B policies, procedures, training, and schedules for stewarding staff.
• Coordinates purchasing needs for Food & Beverage operations and outlet support.
• Ensures staff are trained on stewarding policies and equipment usage.
• Acts as liaison with contract companies and outside vendors; coordinates with Health Department.
• Conducts walk-through inspections of kitchen areas.

THE JOB:

As a Senior Executive Assistant Steward at Mandalay Bay, you will be responsible for assigned operational functions within the department. You will also set the stage for guest experience with your welcoming smile and service. By understanding their unique stories and needs, you will own their experience to create WOW memories they will carry with them far and beyond their stay with us.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Manages the operations in the stewarding department to ensure departmental strategic goals and intent are being met and exceeding expectations.

• Manage Human Resources responsibilities to include creating a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction; quality hiring, training and succession planning processes that encompass the company’s diversity commitment; compliance with company and department policies, and legal requirements.

• Assist in handling all stewarding related labor relations issues. Assists in the investigation of such issues. Provide recommendations and issues with appropriate counseling, suspensions, and terminations.

• Oversee the job training & development programs through stewarding managers on a regular basis.

• Implement of F&B policies, operating procedures and training programs, manuals, directives, work schedules, rules and regulations for the stewarding staff and personnel.

• Coordinate purchase needs and parts to properly operate Food & Beverage outlet needs and fill outlet requisitions.

• Ensure all employees are properly trained in the Stewarding policies and procedures and use of all equipment.

• Act as a liaison with contract companies.

• Coordinate and communicate with all outside vendors and services, and Health Department.

• Responsible for walk-through inspections of kitchen areas.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• 2+ years of relevant experience in stewarding within the hotel/casino industry.

• Experience in multi-venue stewarding operations and/or banquet stewarding operations.
