Job summary

MGM Resorts International in Las Vegas seeks a Banquet Supervisor for Conventions & Banquets at Mandalay Bay to lead the daily operations of high‑volume events, coordinating with event planners and culinary teams to ensure flawless service and luxury hospitality.

You will coach banquet staff, review banquet event orders, schedule service, and partner with support departments to execute spectacular conventions, galas, and corporate gatherings, transforming client plans into unforgettable WOW

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of catering & banquets experience required.
• 1+ years as banquet supervisor/captain or manager preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with Banquet Managers on staffing ratios, room layouts, menu implementation and operation of events.
• Review Banquet Event Order and understand the event as planned; create diagrams when needed.
• Prepare back of house strike sheets and server assignments for each event.
• Communicate with support departments to finalize details on food, beverage, equipment, power and room setup; oversee service staff.
• Manage HR responsibilities for assigned areas; promote client service, teamwork, recognition, and staff development.

The Job

As a Banquet Supervisor for Conventions & Banquets at Mandalay Bay, you will lead the daily operations of our world‑class, high‑volume event services, directing the execution of spectacular conventions, galas, and corporate gatherings within our massive, state‑of‑the‑art facilities. You will partner closely with event planners and culinary teams to ensure every detail of our diverse functions runs smoothly, maintaining the highest standards of luxury hospitality and seamless service. By coaching and inspiring your team of banquet professionals to deliver with polished poise and anticipation, you will orchestrate flawless events that transform ambitious plans into unforgettable, “WOW” moments for thousands of guests.

The Day-to-day

• Work directly with Banquet Managers on staffing ratios, room lay outs, menu implementation and operation of events as well as closely work with the EMM and Catering Manager regarding service of events
• Review Banquet Event Order and understand the event as planned by the client and EMM/Catering Manager; create diagrams for events when needed
• Prepare back of house strike sheets for events requiring equipment for service and prepare server assignments for each event
• Communicate with support departments to finalize details relating to food, beverage, equipment, power and room set up for all responsible events; oversee the banquet service staff and ensure they are following department, property and corporate policies and procedures
• Manage Human Resource responsibilities for specifically assigned areas; create and maintain a work environment that promotes client service, teamwork, performance feedback, individual recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction. Ensure quality hiring, training, and succession planning processes that encompass the company's diversity commitment

The Ideal Candidate

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Work Varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays required
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• 1+ Years of Prior Relevant experience in Catering & Banquets or a related field required
• 1+ Years of Prior Relevant experience as a Banquet supervisor/captain in an operation of similar size and scope or as a manager/director preferred
