Job summary

The Cincinnati Insurance Companies is seeking an experienced excess and surplus lines underwriter in Pennsylvania. The candidate must reside within this territory or near our Fairfield, OH Headquarters.

The pay range is $75,000 - $140,000 annually, with potential annual bonus and stock incentives based on performance. Responsibilities include underwriting, pricing and terms decisions, mentoring junior staff, and building relationships with producers and reinsurers across a regional territory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or extensive underwriting experience.
• 5+ years of experience working with commercial lines P&C products.
• ASLI or CPCU designations preferred.
• Carrier background will be given preference; training provided in Cincinnati, OH.

Responsibilities

• Work in partnership with producers and underwriting assistant to solicit, underwrite and price new and renewal surplus lines property and casualty business.
• Determine risk acceptability, pricing, coverage, terms and conditions for accounts.
• Develop and analyze information and exposures for complex risks.
• Achieve production and loss ratio goals within the regional territory.
• Work independently with authority and judgment.
• Determine need for and secure appropriate reinsurance on accounts.
• Mentor and train underwriters and assistants.
• Build strong relationships with producers and reinsurers; research new products and forms.
• Travel within assigned territory, potentially overnight.
