Job summary

LEGENDS GLOBAL is seeking an Events Manager at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh to ensure client needs are met by mobilizing internal resources, setting up, operating, and closing out events.

The role requires flexible hours, standing and walking long hours, and coordinating with internal departments, unions, and service partners. On-site management and invoicing duties are included, with a focus on delivering seamless events.

Qualifications

• 2 years’ experience in operation and execution of large convention/trade shows (>5K attendees).
• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, event planning, sports management or related field required.
• Experience working with unions such as AV, stage hands, productions, and setup staff.

Responsibilities

• Advise and meet with clients on event details and logistics.
• Gather information: agenda, room requirements, labor, electrical, security needs.
• Coordinate with internal departments and service partners on procedures and deadlines.
• Quote prices for operational and labor services not in the Event License Agreement.
• Present detailed requirements to operations and manage changes during events.
• Be on site as manager on duty during execution and coordinate invoicing with finance.
• Prepare and distribute event documents to clients and internal teams.
• Input and maintain contracts and event data in systems.
• Lead pre-event meetings and attend departmental briefings.
• Perform duties as assigned by the Director of Event Services.
