Job summary

Salt Lake Community College is seeking a part-time events facilitator to help open, set up, operate, and wrap up conferences and events at the Jordan Student Center. You will assist with AV setups, client coordination, and safety compliance in a dynamic multi-event environment.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, clear communication, and the ability to lift 50 lbs as needed, with shifts that cover daily operations and occasional vacations or illnesses.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.
• Knowledge of general office procedures.
• Knowledge of internet use (including setup of internet access).

Responsibilities

• Open the Student Center building and event spaces for daily operations; secure the building when not in use.
• Set up audio/visual equipment and other amenities as outlined in the daily schedule.
• Troubleshoot and resolve client equipment and setup issues.
• Provide direct customer service to on- and off-campus clients, staff, faculty, and students during events.
• Assist conference clients with setup, equipment, displays, and signage for events.
• Conduct regular maintenance checks of conference spaces and return unused equipment to storage.
