Job summary

Jewish Community Center of the East Bay is seeking an experienced Event Services Manager to lead planning, management, and execution of events across the campus, including partner and private rentals.

You will drive sales leads, coordinate logistics, and ensure top-tier guest experiences while collaborating with internal teams and external partners. Evening/weekend work and some manual setup support are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with 5+ years in event management, hospitality, facilities coordination, or related field.
• Experience supervising staff, contractors, or volunteers, including scheduling and on-site leadership.
• Ability to manage multiple events and priorities in a dynamic, community-focused environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
• Comfort with scheduling tools, databases, and standard office applications.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for event inquiries for programs, partners, and rentals.
• Produce and manage events from inquiry through completion with high quality guest experience.
• Generate new sales leads through marketing and networking.
• Meet with clients to plan events, review policies, and finalize details at milestones.
• Coordinate contracts, deposits, payments, and obligations; ensure 30-day walkthroughs before events.
• Oversee vendor walkthroughs, insurance, permits, and license requirements; obtain liquor licenses as needed.
• Arrange timelines, room layouts, staffing, and A/V coordination; supervise event staff.
