Job summary

Edlavitch DC Jewish Community Center in Washington, DC is seeking a Part-Time Seasonal Event Assistant to serve as the lead point person for external event clients on evenings and weekends. The role ensures spaces and equipment are set per the Event Manager's specifications and coordinates with clients, vendors, and staff.

You will greet clients, assist with set-ups, run basic A/V, and help coordinate communications to deliver smooth events while upholding EDCJCC policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or relevant work experience; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• At least 2 years in hospitality or client services.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• A passion for providing outstanding customer experiences.
• Available to support events on evenings and weekends.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the event point-person as assigned by the Event Manager.
• Ensure contracted services and equipment are confirmed and available.
• Assist with set-ups and breakdowns for events and ensure timely completion by operations staff.
• Greet clients and escort them to their event space.
• Run basic A/V for events including sound, lights, streaming, and projections.
• Occasionally communicate with the team via Outlook and Teams.
• Assist as an event coordinator to facilitate a smooth experience.
• Ensure clients follow EDCJCC rules and regulations.
• Coordinate with the Event Manager to meet space and room needs.
