Job summary

The Camby, Autograph Collection in Phoenix seeks a Senior Event Planning Manager to coordinate all aspects of events, from initial planning to flawless execution.

You will liaise between customers and hotel sales, oversee group room blocks, F&B, meeting space and billing, and provide on-site problem solving. If you thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and lead with creativity, we want to hear from you.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and/or 2+ years of hotel sales experience.
• 3+ years of food and beverage experience.
• Strong understanding of interpretation of contracts.
• Demonstrated strong business communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Proactive sales approach, assertive and fast paced, driven to succeed.
• Execute and support Hotel Customer Service Standards and Hotel’s Brand Standards.
• Understanding of respective market segment, competitor’s strengths, weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand.
• Work well under pressure.
• Time management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while delivering successful outcomes for each.
• Ability to communicate effectively with public and other employees.
• Creativity in designing events.
• Working knowledge of banquet department (sets, AV equipment, scheduling, menu planning).
• Ability to design menus in conjunction with the culinary department to maximize operating profit.
• Strong working knowledge of hotel sales/event CRM systems (e.g., Delphi, Marriott CI/TY, Starwood ISAC, or Hyatt Envision/EMS).
• Working knowledge of statistical data and analytics as they relate to hotel operations and the event sales department.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all aspects of events from initial planning to execution to ensure unforgettable guest experiences.
• Act as liaison between customer and hotel sales to provide direction during event execution.
• Be available to customers during events to resolve problems and suggest alternatives.
• Directly serve group customers, managing logistics of group room blocks, food & beverage, public meeting space, and billing.
• Maintain proactive leadership and a fast-paced service standard.
