Job summary

Slate is seeking an energetic Electrical Switch, Actuator & Sensor Release Engineer to develop requirements and manage Tier 1 suppliers for electrical switches and actuators across our battery electric vehicles.

This hands-on role will report to the Manager, Electrical Hardware and Accessories, driving release requirements, test plans, and supplier collaboration to ensure robust hardware performance and cybersecurity compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ABET preferred).
5+ years of relevant hands-on experience.
Experience with low/high voltage systems and harnessing.
Ability to lead Tier 1 supplier relationships and cross-functional reviews.
Knowledge of CAN, LIN, Ethernet, LVDS protocols; DFMEA/PPAP experience.

Responsibilities

Develop functional requirements for electrical switches, actuators & sensors including interfaces, diagnostics and fault detection.
Create test plans and release components in PLM; maintain release levels as designs mature.
Lead DFMEA reviews to identify risks and drive controls to reduce failures.
Review hardware designs with cross-functional teams to ensure requirements are met.
Implement Lean engineering methodologies across the development lifecycle.
