Job summary

Slate is seeking a Sr. ADAS Release Engineer to develop requirements and manage Tier 1 suppliers for the Front Camera module and related features listed in the Program Description Letter.

This role reports to the Manager, Electrical Hardware and Accessories and drives ADAS requirement development for Slate EVs. The position is hands-on, with leadership of suppliers and cross-functional teams, requiring 5 years of relevant experience, HV/LV familiarity, and proficiency in CAN-Bus, LIN, Ethernet,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronics or Computer Software Engineering from ABET accredited program preferred.
• 5 years relevant experience.
• Hands-on / detail oriented.
• Experience with both low and high voltage systems.
• Excellent communication.
• Team-building and relationship-building skills.
• Experience with opened and closed loop control systems for sensors, actuators, ECUs.
• Experience with CAN-Bus, LIN, and Ethernet communications.

Responsibilities

• Release the control module(s) part numbers in the PLM system and maintain release levels as design matures.
• Review hardware design with cross functional teams to ensure requirements are met.
• Develop and document test plans for the front camera module.
• Lead DFMEA reviews to identify risks and drive controls logic to improve detection and reduce failures.
• Train technicians and troubleshooters on theory of operations and controls logic.
• Collaborate with HIL/SIL Validation Engineers to develop tests and iterate on issues.
• Implement and maintain cyber-security best practices across lifecycle.
• Apply LEAN Engineering methodologies throughout.
