Job summary

Optimal Solution Company seeks an EV Vehicle Technician/Sr. Technician to maintain development fleet, assist prototype builds, and install instrumentation for testing.

The role includes diagnosing systems with OEM tools, performing repairs to manufacturer specs, and providing field and on-site support across multiple test locations, with up to 90% travel. A 4+ year background in automotive tech, ASE and state certification are required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Automotive Repair or related program.
• Minimum 4 years of experience as an Automotive Technician.
• ASE Certification and Michigan State Mechanic Certification.
• Experience with EV energy storage systems and battery systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair activities on electric vehicles.
• Diagnose vehicle issues using diagnostic tools and equipment (OEM GDS experience preferred).
• Conduct post-repair testing to ensure vehicles operate correctly.
• Assist engineers with prototype builds, testing prep, parts replacement and evaluation.
• Construct and install test harnesses for vehicle systems and data collection.
• Maintain shop cleanliness, safety, and inventory for parts and tools.
• Travel extensively to vehicle testing sites across the United States (up to 90%).
