Job summary

Rivian VW Group Technologies seeks an engineering technician for advanced development to support prototype build, integration, testing and maintenance. You will work with early prototypes, applying advanced diagnostic skills across automotive electrical, mechanical and software systems.

Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing prototype systems, fabricating components, instrumenting tests, and coordinating with engineers. Travel up to 50% and CDL is a plus for moving vehicles.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of technician/mechanic experience in automotive industry; EV/hybrid preferred.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• High voltage electrical knowledge and training.
• Strong automotive electrical understanding and CAN/LIN experience.
• Minor fabrication experience; strong technical/mechanical ability.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair prototype electrical, mechanical and software systems.
• Fabricate/modify prototype components and fixtures.
• Maintain detailed work records and test equipment.
• Install instrumentation on prototype vehicles per specs.
• Coordinate with engineers for technical support.
• Load/transport prototype vehicles to test locations; open CDL a plus.
• Test drive vehicles on closed tracks; travel up to 50%.
