Job summary
Broad-Ocean Motor seeks a Senior EV Motor Control Engineer to design, develop, implement, and validate advanced motor-control algorithms for EV propulsion and electrified powertrains. On-site in Novi, Michigan, you will work with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance software for motors and power electronics.
Responsibilities include developing PMSM/BLDC motor control strategies (FOC, sensorless, MTPA, braking) and validating them in SIL/PIL/HIL setups, plus interfacing with vehicle
Qualifications
- Master's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience developing motor-control algorithms for EVs or automotive propulsion.
- Strong experience with C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink, and MCU-based embedded systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement motor-control algorithms for EV traction motors across PMSM, BLDC, and induction systems.
- Design and optimize control strategies (FOC, sensorless, MTPA, field weakening, regenerative braking).
- Validate algorithms using MATLAB/Simulink, SIL/PIL/HIL environments and real-time testing.
- Integrate software with power electronics to optimize motor-inverter interaction.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust, production-ready solutions.
