Broad-Ocean Technologies, LLC in Novi, Michigan is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical packaging for motor controllers and to set up Dynos for testing. This onsite role combines enclosure design, thermal management, and test-system development with close collaboration across electrical, software, and test teams.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred) with 3+ years of packaging design experience, proficiency in SolidWorks, and practical lab

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in mechanical packaging design with thermal considerations.
• Experience with thermal simulation for power electronics and motor controllers.
• SolidWorks proficiency and hands-on assembly experience.
• Ability to work cross-functionally in a lab and manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical packaging for motor controllers, including enclosure design and thermal management.
• Create 3D CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation.
• Support prototype assembly, testing, root cause analysis, and design improvements.
• Collaborate with electrical, controls, software, and test engineers throughout product development.
• Coordinate with suppliers for machining, fabrication, prototyping, and sourcing.
• Prepare engineering docs, assembly instructions, and test bench procedures.
• Design fixtures and tooling to support Dyno testing and validation.
