Job summary

Lucid Motors is seeking a Senior Engineer, Charging Software Testing to lead testing and validation of HV charging systems and onboard chargers. You will design test plans, operate high-voltage test rigs, and collaborate with engineers to ensure reliability and safety across vehicle charging components.

The role emphasizes HiL testing, automation, and data analysis using MATLAB/Simulink, Python, and CANoe/CANape. Strong technical breadth and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar technical field is required.
• Master's degree or higher education is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in battery software testing or automotive embedded systems.
• Proficiency in Vector CANoe and CANape for testing and simulations.
• Experience with High Voltage battery software testing, PPE usage, and emergency procedures.
• Expertise in MATLAB/Simulink for model-based software verification.
• Strong understanding of battery parameters: voltage, current, capacity, energy, SOC, SOH, and charge/discharge characteristics.
• Familiarity with CAN, LIN, RS-232, USB, and Automotive Ethernet networking.
• Ability to design and build test benches and integrate test automation tools.
• Excellent documentation skills for test planning, execution, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct QA testing to verify system functionality, reliability, and compliance.
• Develop and execute test plans for HV powertrain components, such as onboard chargers.
• Operate and maintain high-voltage test equipment, power supplies, electronic loads, and mechanical test setups.
• Perform validation and safety testing, including electrical, thermal, and mechanical assessments.
• Collaborate with engineers and vendors to define test methodologies and ensure standards compliance (J1772, ISO 15118, J3400).
• Support HiL/High Voltage Buck testing of the charging system with automated test cases.
• Design, build, and maintain test benches for high and low-voltage systems.
• Automate data logging and analysis using Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, CANape, Canalyzer.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose test failures with cross-functional teams.
• Document test procedures, results, and design improvements.
