Job summary

Lucid Motors seeks a Senior Engineer, Charging Software Testing to drive development, validation and verification of high-voltage and vehicle charging systems.

The role designs and executes test plans for onboard chargers, HV power electronics, and related components, collaborating with cross-functional teams, operating test equipment, analyzing data, and contributing to Lucid’s EV technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar technical field required.
• 5+ years of experience in battery software testing or automotive embedded systems.
• Proficiency in Vector CANoe, CANape for testing and simulations.
• Experience with High Voltage battery software testing, including safety protocols, PPE usage, and emergency procedures.
• Expertise in MATLAB Simulink family of tools for model-based software verification.
• Strong understanding of battery parameters: voltage, current, capacity, energy, SOC, SOH, and charge/discharge characteristics.
• Familiarity with networking devices and communication protocols (CAN, LIN, RS-232, USB, Automotive Ethernet).
• Ability to design and build test benches and integrate test automation tools.
• Excellent documentation skills for test planning, execution, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans for HV powertrain components, such as onboard chargers.
• Operate and maintain high-voltage test equipment, power supplies, electronic loads, and mechanical test setups.
• Perform validation and safety testing, including electrical, thermal, and mechanical assessments.
• Collaborate with engineers to define test methodologies and ensure standards compliance (J1772, ISO 15118, J3400).
• Support HiL/High Voltage Buck testing and automate test cases.
• Design, build, and maintain test benches for high and low-voltage systems.
• Automate data logging and analysis using Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, Canape, Canalyzer.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose test failures across hardware and software domains.
• Document test procedures, results, and design improvements.
