Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking an experienced Cost Estimator to join our proposal pricing team. You will develop, document, and defend cost estimates for aerospace programs, supporting FAR/DFARS compliance across government and commercial work.

You’ll collaborate with engineering, program management, and finance to build competitive price volumes and BOEs. Ideal candidates have TS clearance, 10+ years in cost estimating, advanced Excel, and experience with PRICE/SEER and ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, engineering, or related field
• 10+ of cost estimating or proposal pricing experience in aerospace/defense/government contracting
• Working knowledge of FAR/DFARS/NFS/CAS/TINA and preparing compliant cost/price volumes
• Experience writing BOEs and developing bottoms-up, parametric, and analogous estimates
• Ability to read and interpret RFPs, SOWs, and cost-related customer documents
• Advanced Excel skills with complex multi-tab models
• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to build trusted relationships across disciplines and contribute to an inclusive team culture
• Preferred: experience with PRICE/SEER and ERP systems (Deltek, SAP, Oracle)

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver cost estimates and price volumes for proposals
• Write clear Basis of Estimate narratives detailing approaches, assumptions, and rationale
• Develop estimates for IR&D efforts and various program scopes
• Manage multiple estimating efforts simultaneously across different complexity levels
• Support the full proposal lifecycle from RFP release through submission, negotiation, and award
• Collaborate with capture, technical, program, supply chain, and finance teams
• Interpret RFPs, SOWs, and customer documents and translate into estimating plans
• Contribute to pricing strategy, should-cost analysis, and risk/opportunity assessments
• Mentor and develop junior estimators and pricing analysts
