Job summary

CoVolt Power is seeking a Manager of Estimating for utility-scale solar and battery storage projects. The role oversees a cross-functional estimating team, develops competitive budgets, and coordinates with design, procurement, and operations to craft winning proposals.

The candidate will guide templates and processes, coach staff, and ensure high-quality estimates across the bid lifecycle while traveling to site visits and client meetings as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related areas.
• Prior self-perform estimating experience required.
• Experience in subcontract tendering and response evaluation.
• Experience with solar and/or battery storage required.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimating team under Estimating Leadership and manage proposal capacity.
• Take ownership of departmental templates and processes; coach team members.
• Collaborate with Estimating and Operations to align cost estimation with execution.
• Develop competitive and precise project budgets in response to client RFPs.
• Review client RFPs to determine scope, schedule and design criteria; prepare/provide takeoffs and bid packages.
• Coordinate pricing with subcontractors; manage bid evaluations and selections.
• Support value engineering with other departments to improve proposals.
• Manage pricing efforts for detailed and indicative utility-scale solar and storage opportunities.
• Facilitate collaboration across Estimating, Preconstruction and Operations during bids.
