Job summary

Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN seeks a Senior Estimator to support the Estimating Manager from inception through completion of estimates, including plan development, component consolidation, and bid preparation.

The role requires strong technical estimating knowledge, risk assessment, and cost/price analysis, with experience in preparing basis documentation and conducting bid evaluations. DOE clearance is required for this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
• Master's degree with minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• 12+ years of relevant education, training, and/or progressive relevant experience may be considered equivalent.
• Demonstrated intermediate-to-advanced understanding of estimating core processes with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of estimating software tools and price-to-win strategies.
• Experience in cost/price data analysis and mathematical/financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Supports estimate execution from inception through completion and assists with the development of an achievable estimate plan.
• Coordinates consolidation of estimate components and supports preparation of proposal cost volumes and bid forms.
• Reviews estimates for quality and integrity and prepares basis/documentation with supported assumptions.
• Assists in scoping reviews, RFP criteria, and develops estimating basis when information is incomplete.
• Participates in bid evaluations and may engage with vendors during discussions.
• Prepares non-manual cost estimates and analyzes field costs and startup services.
• Presents the estimate management review package and schedules internal/external reviews.
