Job summary

The Weitz Company in Gig Harbor, WA is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead preconstruction cost control for complex projects, including complete estimates, cost analysis, and feasibility studies. This role may lead preconstruction efforts and supervise estimators on assigned projects.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Construction Management, 10 years of estimating experience, and strong communication, leadership, and software skills (WinEst, On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited program in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Construction, or similar.
• Ten years of estimating responsibility is required; supervisory experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Review estimates for accuracy, detail, and expectations.
• Develop scope of work, labor, and equipment costs from plans and specs.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs and pricing for self-perform or unit price estimates.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and government offices to verify costs.
• Enter estimate data in WinEst and prepare bid analysis; manage trade data and gaps.
