Job summary

Michels Infrastructure Solutions, Inc. is seeking an Estimator to support preconstruction and pursuit efforts on hyperscale data center and mission-critical infrastructure projects across North America.

This role emphasizes accurate cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, bid evaluations, and pricing analyses in collaboration with operations, procurement, and preconstruction teams. You will gain exposure to all phases of project development, contributing to competitive proposals and successful

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, Project Management, or related discipline.
• Experience supporting heavy civil, utility, mission-critical, industrial, power, EPC, or infrastructure construction projects is preferred.
• Ability to review construction drawings, specifications, contracts, geotechnical reports, and project schedules.
• Experience performing quantity takeoffs, cost analyses, and estimate development.
• Understanding of construction means and methods, productivity factors, material pricing, labor costs, and equipment utilization.
• Experience coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, procurement teams, and operations personnel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Experience with estimating software such as HeavyBid, HCSS, B2W, Bluebeam, AGTEK, InEight, Primavera P6 is preferred.
• Travel up to 75% and support long-term onsite project assignments across North America.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, budgets, and proposal support documents for mission-critical infrastructure projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, bid documents, schedules, and contract requirements to fully understand project scope.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Support procurement and operations teams in developing pricing strategies and execution plans.
• Identify project risks, assumptions, exclusions, and value engineering opportunities.
• Assist with estimate reviews, bid submissions, and project turnover activities.
• Develop conceptual, budget, and detailed construction estimates.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain pricing and scope definitions.
• Analyze labor, equipment, material, subcontractor, and indirect project costs.
