Job summary

MasTec Civil in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Senior Estimator with extensive heavy civil estimating experience to support roadway and bridge projects. The candidate should understand bid strategies, cost saving initiatives, and manage the full bid submittal process.

The position requires 10+ years in estimating and 5+ years in field heavy civil work, with knowledge of DOT/turnpike contracts and design-build/design-bid-build delivery methods. Strong mentoring skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of Heavy Civil estimating experience.
• Minimum 5 years of field experience in heavy civil construction (roads/bridges).
• Knowledge of design-build, design-bid-build, and lump-sum contracts.

Responsibilities

• Understand bid items, estimates, and plan specifications.
• Conduct quantity takeoffs within deadlines.
• Prepare budgets for awarded contracts.
• Lead bid submittals and discuss estimates with executives.
• Coordinate with suppliers/subcontractors for quotes.
• Maintain updated knowledge of DOT standards.
