Job summary

William Charles Construction, a MasTec Company, is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator for civil/structural projects with heavy highway and roadway emphasis. The role involves takeoffs, cost estimates and risk analysis for bids in Illinois and Indiana offices.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in heavy civil estimating, strong earthwork/underground knowledge and proficiency with Bid2Win, Primavera P6, Bluebeam and AutoCAD. Occasional site visits and travel are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Construction Management or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy civil estimating.
• Extensive earthwork and underground experience; PCC paving and concrete knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze and interpret contract documents to provide accurate cost estimates.
• Develop preliminary budgets and itemized summaries for go/no-go decisions.
• Identify issues and develop risk exposure with cost impacts.
• Provide innovative strategies and value engineering solutions.
• Communicate with clients, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and support bid schedules with Operations.
• Present complete estimates to support decision making.
