Job summary

Global Specialty Contractors, Inc. in Hawai'i seeks a Lead Estimator to head the estimating function for our Hawai'i Division. This senior role shapes bid strategy, prepares estimates and oversees bid-to-construction handoffs for major infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will manage public-sector bids, coordinate with project managers and field teams, and mentor a growing estimating staff while working across highway, bridge, marine and water-control projects.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of estimating experience in heavy civil/public infrastructure.
• Experience managing complex public-sector bids and government procurement processes.
• Ability to interpret civil drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports and contracts.
• Strong organizational, analytical and leadership skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management; equivalent experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead bid strategy, quantity takeoffs, pricing, subcontractor solicitation and proposals.
• Manage public-sector bids from prequalification to submission.
• Prepare estimates for highway/bridge/marine and related infrastructure.
• Conduct takeoffs and cost analyses for earthwork, utilities and structures.
• Coordinate bid-to-construction handoffs with PMs and field teams.
• Mentor junior estimating staff and coordinate with agencies and subcontractors.
