Job summary

Orion, a leading marine and heavy civil contractor in Hawaii, seeks an experienced Estimator to drive bid development for complex projects. You will prepare estimates, takeoffs and pricing, coordinating with internal teams and suppliers to ensure competitive proposals.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in marine/heavy civil estimating, proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid and Excel, and the ability to read technical bid documents. Travel to project sites in Hawaii may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of estimating experience in marine or heavy civil construction.
• Experience estimating self-performing marine and/or heavy civil projects preferred.
• Proficient with estimating software and Excel.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs, contracts.
• Willingness to travel to project locations; Hawaii preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates, quantity takeoffs, pricing and bid documents.
• Collaborate with Project Management, Operations, Engineering and subcontractors.
• Develop labor, equipment, material, subcontractor and production-based costs.
• Solicit quotations from material suppliers and subcontractors.
• Support bid reviews and handoff of winning estimates to project teams.
