Job summary

Sundt Enterprise is seeking a Senior Estimator to operate with minimal oversight on preconstruction teams, serving as the primary contact with design teams and owners.

The role requires leading all estimating disciplines across earthwork, paving, utilities, and structures on civil and highway projects, and preparing detailed take-offs, quotes, and bids.

Successful candidates will close out bids, develop cost estimates, and coordinate junior estimators and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.

Qualifications

• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite.
• LEED and DBIA certification preferred, or willingness to obtain.
• Four-year engineering degree or equivalent.
• 10+ years of estimating experience.
• Experience as prime contact with minimal oversight.
• Experience in key market sectors identified by BU.

Responsibilities

• Lead bid estimation across discipline areas.
• Perform detailed quantity take-offs to develop cost estimates.
• Estimate unit costs based on crew, rates, and equipment.
• Coordinate junior estimators and interns in takeoff and procurement.
• Prepare supplier bids for self-performed work.
• Close out bids and provide detailed estimate explanations.
• Utilize cost history data to verify production rates.
• Review estimates with design team and owner.
• Solicit quotes from vendors and subcontractors.
